About the search engine

To search the UWS Expert Database, simply type in a key word and press GO! The search engine is not case sensitive.

For more control over your search query, you can use the following boolean expressions.

'AND'

If you enter the word and between two search words (with a space between each word), it will find any records containing both search words

For instance, if you search on the words 'nursing and care', you will get all records which include the two words 'nursing' and 'care'. However, if a records contained only the word 'care' (and not the words 'nursing'), this records will not show.

'OR'

If you enter the words or between two search words (with a space between each word) it will find any records which contains either the first word, or the second word, or both.

For example, 'nursing or care' would find records containing the word 'nursing' or the word 'care', or both.

'NOT'

To find records which do not contain a particular word, place the word not before it.

For instance, 'not nursing' will find all records, which do not contain the word 'nursing'. You can combin the and and not commands, for example 'care and not nursing' will find records containing the word 'care' but not the word 'nursing'.
