Bio Details:
In the fine tradition of Australians thumbing their noses at authority, Steve Keen is a professional sceptic of accepted economic wisdom who is nonetheless an Associate Professor of Economics & Finance. His book Debunking Economics: the naked emperor of the social sciences has sold over 7,000 copies worldwide to date and earned Steve a reputation as one of the world's leading critics of conventional economics. In his research he applies concepts from chaos and complexity theory to economics, and especially to the behaviour of finance markets. Steve's pre-academic career included periods of journalism, in fields as diverse as economics commentator for the ABC's Indian-Pacific program and software editor for Australian Computing.
